This past Sunday in Sunday school class our teacher, Nathan, gave us 10 keys to a Happy & Successful Marriage.  Take a look at them and see if you agree.  I thought they were really quite good!

The scripture he based his ideas from is Romans 12:1-18.

1. Be a living sacrifice.

2. Be not conformed.

3. Don’t think too highly of yourself.

4. Recognize your different gifts.

5. Love without hypocrisy.

6. Put your spouse first.

7. Be kind to one another and with your spouse.

8. Rejoice and weep together.

9. Don’t repay evil with evil.

10. Overcome evil with good.

What do you think?

We all have seen it on TV a person’s child says mom dad:

I am pregnant,

I don’t believe in God,

I want to quite school,

I am gay.

We say to ourselves I would have handled the situation better

The fact is we all react to things differently.

But as a good parent what would you say.

How would you react?

I like to think I’d keep my cool and think things through for a moment before I respond.

You’d only get one shot,

So what would you say?

Believe it our not.

We are all in different places in life.

Some of us are married with kids and broke.

Some of us are married with no kids and rich.

Some of us are single.

Some of us are divorced with kids and struggling.

Some of us are living paycheck to paycheck.

Some of us are living with our parents again.

We are a real diverse group of people.

As for the Liscum family, we are a happy family of four. We are not perfect and not a model family by far, but what we do works for us.  One of us works for the man, the other of us is self-employed.  We live paycheck to paycheck and yet we see God’s amazing love for us & how he has provided for our every need and then some. Though life is tough and we have some hard times we are happy and loving life! We are living life!

This year, let’s encourage one another and celebrate with one another for those who are in abundance and lift up those who are having a tough time.

Where are you at in life right now?

For about the past month or so I have really gotten slack about my blogging.
I’ve been so overwhelmed with my school work, my jobs, & family life.
Truth be known it was & still is my school work that is killing me.
I think Liberty University Online is trying to kill me!

Not that I think you can’t live without reading my blog or anything, because we all know what I put out there is just a little above crap.
I do enjoy writing them however, guess you could say they are therapeutic for me.
Anyway came across this video & thought I share it.
I do love a good Seinfeld video.

One day there will be no Nerf Gun on the table…

One day there will be no rocks in their pockets…

One day there will be no more bruised knees, or cut fingers…

One day there will be no holes in the jeans…

No silly bands, Hotwheels cars, or knacks on the dresser…

No toy soldiers in the bathroom…

No toys on the stairs…

No messy room that tells you it’s a boys room…

Even though these things can make for a messy house…

Frazzled nervous…

Tiring parents…

I will mess them terribly…

Parents enjoy these things for one day they will be gone.

Can anyone relate?

Ok so yesterday I got a haircut, mainly because my wife said with my longer hair I looked like I was letting myself go.  She says the shorter hair makes me look younger.  I don’t know what do you all think?

When you boys look at me

Your spirits warm me, like a warm day in June

And my harden heart

Finds a moment of happiness in this cold world

Thank you for coming into my life with your happy smiles, big hugs, & a lot of love!

Dad
